The Tinguely Fountain, dedicated to the carnival of Basel, is situated in the heart of Basel and one of the symbols of its identity. Strolling around in the old town you’ll come across this famous fountain. Jean Tinguely placed amusing, moving machine sculptures in an enormous pool of water. Jean Tinguely (1925-1991) grew up in Basel. Since 1996 the Tinguely Museum Basel constructed by Mario Botta presents a representative range of his lifework.
